Runway 13/31 Extension
The Thief River Falls Regional Airport has completed a comprehensive Master Plan to document infrastructure needs to meet existing and forecasted activity levels and needs. Driven by growing commercial air service and air cargo activity, the Master Plan has recommended extending the main runway to 8,000 feet in total length.
An 8,000-foot long runway will:
• Provide safe and accessible all-weather access to the Airport and region
• Enable cargo and commercial carriers to safely operate without weight restrictions in snow and ice runway conditions
• Support growing air cargo activity
• Leverage FAA and State funding
• Provide infrastructure to support regional economic growth
